Student placements

Platform for Life offers placement opportunities for student counsellors and therapists. We recognise the value students bring to our clients’ experience as well as to our charity as a whole.

Our charity started in 2017, offering free counselling and play therapy support to low income families- parents/carers, children and young people experiencing mental health issues. Poor mental health can affect anyone but socio-economic disadvantages place people at greater risk of developing such issues and make it more difficult for them to access the right level of support and healing.

We accept applications from a broad range of counselling and therapeutic courses and recruit for counsellors and therapists on placement all year round. This means you’ll be able to start your placement at any time during the academic year.

Due to the complex needs of our clients, we currently only consider applications from students who have already completed a minimum of 50 face to face placement hours.
