Social Impact report 2020-21

Our charity offers counselling and play therapy support to families- adults, children and young people living in relative poverty and experiencing mental health issues.

Our focus is on strengthening family relationships and creating more stable and nurturing environments for children. Our aim is to stop the cycle of poor mental health being passed down from one generation to the next and through early intervention to stop poor mental health becoming a life-long disability.

The evidence in our Social Impact Report is taken from our own evaluations, case studies and feedback from our clients and referrers.

There has been an 25% increase in referrals compared to last year and there has been increase in delivered sessions with one of our counsellors, up 53% on last year.

Our reports shows that counselling can have a significant and positive impact on the lives of our clients, leading to significant changes, these include;

  • Building more positive family and peer relationships.
  • Accessing education when they’d previously not been able to.
  • Making successful transitions from primary to high school.
  • Applying for work.
  • Feeling able to take on more responsibility in the workplace including promotions.
  • Feeling more able to deal with other challenges in their life.
