Thank you Severn Trent Community Fund

We are delighted to have been awarded a grant from Severn Trent Community Fund.

This grant will help us to continue our vital service, offering free to client, local and easy to access counselling and play therapy to low income families struggling with poor mental health in Blacon and Lache areas of Chester.

The families we work with often fall through the net of mainstream mental health services, struggling to access and engage with them. We take a holistic approach to the family and recognise that parental trauma and adversity can have a significant impact on children. Our focus is on strengthening family relationships and creating more stable and nurturing environments for children. Our goal is to break the cycle of poor mental health being passed down from one generation to the next and through early intervention, to stop poor mental health becoming a life-long disability.

Demand for our service is high and continues to grow. Clients access our service because of existing mental health issues left unaddressed, previous ones re-ignited by Covid-19 and new traumas that have occurred during the pandemic.  Over the last 12 months we’ve worked with 40% more clients and anticipate a similarly large growth over the next year.
